Rabbi Rafael G. Grossman was born in New York City, and is the son of the renowned author and scholar Rabbi Jacob L. Grossman, of the Hebrew Community Center of Boro Park, Brooklyn, N.Y. He has two bro thers and two brothers-in-law, each serving as Rabbi in different pulpits in the United States. He was married in New York City, on December 27, 1953, to former Shirley Zaretsky, and they have one daughter, Shoshanah Carol. Rabbi Grossman attended and received his training at the Rabbinical Seminary of America, and was ordained as Rabbi by the Netzach Israel Rab binical College. Rabbi Grossman is a graduate of Columbia and Kansas Universities, and holds a Bachelor and Master degrees in Sociology. Rabbi Grossman, prior to his coming to Rodfei Sholom Congregation in San Antonio, was the spiritual leader of the Jewish Community in Valley Stream, Long island, N.Y. He also held the position of Executive Vice-Presi dent of the Long Island Commission of Rabbis. Rabbi Grossman lectured in major cities and universities throughout the United States, and is the author of numerous Theological and Rabbinic literature, including "The Relative and Rational."
