Rabbi, Scholar, Teacher and friend to all — who extends welcome to the stranger, visits the sick, comforts the bereaved, and helps the needy. His joy is the observance of mitzvoth and providing strength to Torah-true Judaism. Rabbi Pastinsky was born in Malin, Kiev province of the Ukraine, in 1905, and studied with the famous Gaonim and scholars of the Yeshivot in Zvihil and Radin. Ordained in Kiev, he wore the mantle of the Rabbinate in Vancouver, Canada; Chicago, Illinois; and Waco, Texas. He presently holds the position of Shochet of the San Antonio Jewish Community. Rabbi Pastinsky, his wife, Sonya, and family, have resided in San Antonio for the past eleven years and have been active in every phase of our Jewish communal life. Rabbi Pastinsky is the current president of the San Antonio Chapter of Mizrachi. Your friends salute you, Rabbi Pastinsky, for dedication to syn agogue life, community endeavors, and family friendships.
