We loved our parents dearly and respected them very much all the days of their lives. Because of their teachings and training in the Jewish Traditions and principles of life, they set an example for us how to live Jewishly and Honorably - not only to follow and live by in our own days, but also to implant and leave this venerable heritage to our children. We are inclined to believe that the Commandment "Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother - that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord Thy God giveth Thee” - is the memory that we cherish most, even after our parents are departed from us. Our father Mayer Tatelman and our Mother Hannah Pertzen were born in the Voliner Guberni, Russia, and were married there. Later, they came to the United States - to Omaha, Nebraska and lived there until our Father died in November 2, 1942 at the age of 59 and our Mother died August 1, 1953, at the age of 68. They had four children: Mrs. Harry Janger, Omaha, Nebraska Mrs. Gershon Barenblat, San Antonio, Texas Mrs. Shelton Schatz, Des Moines, Iowa Dr. Melvin Tatelman, Omaha, Nebraska Blessed is their memory in the hearts of their children and grand
