Mr. Henkin, a resident of San Antonio for many years, was born in Ukraine, Russia, left his home town when a young man, came to the United States by way of Siberia, and settled in the city of Chicago. After residing in Chicago for twenty years, Mr. Henkin tired of that city, and decided to come to San Antonio to make his home. Having established permanent residence in our city, he lost no time in becoming an active participant in various Jewish organizations, giving much of his personal time to the furtherance of these organizations. He is a long standing member of the Hebrew Free Loan Association, Jewish Community Center, and Agudas Achim Congregation. Mr. Henkin is the proud father of a daughter and a son, a physician of prominence in Detroit, and six grandchildren, three grandsons and three granddaughters. In dedicating this page to the Hebrew Free Loan Association, it is Mr. Henkin’s sincere wish that the Association shall continue to grow with each passing year, so that it may be privileged to perform even greater service to our Jewish community in the years of the future.
