Mr. S. Lifshutz was born in Puchowitz, Minsk Guberni, Russia, on May 25, 1882. He received his Jewish education in the Vilner Yeshuvah. Mr. Lifshutz arrived in New York in 1906, where he married Pauline Westerman on January 10th, 1907. Both moved to San Antonio in the year 1909. Mr. Lifshutz was a member of The Hebrew Free Loan, Jewish Com munity Center, B’nai B’rith, Lodge 211, and a life long member of the Workmen’s Circle. Sholem Lifshutz devoted his energies towards furthering Jewish Literature and Culture. Sholem Lifshutz died in San Antonio, September 8th, 1956 (Hebrew date is Tishri 3rd, 5717).
