Mrs. Litofsky, who was born in Scherps, Poland, left that country at the early age of nine years for the United States and San Antonio, to join relatives already settled here. After growing to adulthood, she met and married Herman Litofsky, a local fruit merchant, and their marriage was blessed with four children, a daughter and three sons. Mrs. Litofsky, a person of simplicity, who sought neither glory or community honors, was a typical Jewish mother, who worked side by side with her husband in their small fruit business, much of her married lifetime, to provide her growing family with the necessities of life. In her sincere desire that her chilrden should be given a head start in life, by means of a good education, Mrs. Litofsky, to the time of her death, sacrificed many of life’s luxuries so that her children would receive the education needed, to give them this start on their life’s journey. By sheer determination and persistency, Mrs. Litofsky met and over came the many parental problems that confronted her in the rearing of her children to enable them to become respected citizens of our community with fine families of their own. It is in grateful recognition of her many years of motherly devotion and the many sacrifices made by her in their behalf, that her children honor her memory with this memorial page, as a lasting tribute for all she has done for them. May her memory be a "Blessed One” always and her soul forever rest in Peace. Born October 10, 1909 — Died February 26, 1970.
DEDICATED THIS 21st DAY OF MARCH, 1971.
