Samuel Solomon Mazer

BORN: SEPTEMBER 25, 1899 LINITZ, KIEV, RUSSIA DECEASED: AUGUST 15, 1964 HOUSTON, TEXAS

Arrived in the United States on May 15, 1906 at the age of 6l/2 years. He spent his boyhood and adolescence in Vineland, N. J. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Served in the Army of the United States from 1917 through 1919, having been stationed at Camp Normoyle, San Antonio, Texas. Married Esther Mazur, native of San Antonio and daughter of Max and Rebecca Mazur, on June 21, 1925. Their marriage produced one son, Lawrence, and two daughters, Barbara and Carolyn. Business activities since 1925 have centered around Retail Mercantile enterprises, all in San Antonio. Actively operated business until time of demise. Member: Congregation Agudas Achim; Albert Pike Lodge No. 1169, A. F. & A. M.; S. A. Consistory; Alzafar Shrine; B’nai Brith; Hebrew Free Loan Assn, and other local and national organizations. Survived by his wife, Esther; his son, Larry; his daughters, Barbara and Carolyn; his daughter-in-law, Bernice; his grandchildren, Marc and Suzanne; four brothers and two sisters.
